Cooking with Ollie

Here is Ollie sitting up in his chair and helping me cook in the kitchen. He is learning to grasp objects and bring them towards himself. He is so neat.

Trick or Treat

Oliver and Daddy waiting for trick or treaters. We served candy out of a gumbo pot, gummies out of a trick or treat basket, and had "spooky" dining room chairs.

Our little stinker

Not a fan of his outfit

Oliver came to work with me halloween day to show off his costume. All of the little old ladies just fell out of their walkers over how cute he looked. He made it through all the pinching and sweet talk before he finally had enough of being a skunk.

Week 8

Oliver Week 8: Here is Oliver just before Halloween. He was able to sit up for a short period of time and turn his head from side to side. He also started to track sound.

Just Being Oliver

Here is oliver doing the backstroke in the tub. It's a reflex for babies to float when you support their heads, but we still think he is pretty amazing.

Here is Nathan (standing off camera) trying to get Oliver to smile for his picutre by blowing in his face. He did finally smile, but fell over while doing so.

Enjoying the Weather

The weather has been so nice this past week that we decided to get out and introduce Oliver to the world.
Below are pictures from his first concert at Alive After Five downtown, Baton Rouge.

Oliver with Mimi and Aunt Liz and cousin Callie.

We put up some Halloween decorations and are looking forward to lots of trick or treaters in our new neighborhood.

Puppy Love

Here's Jewel and Oliver snuggling for a cute moment. I think we will have to print and frame this one.

Oliver: week 2

Oliver: Week 2
Here's Oliver showing some excellent head and neck control. He is so strong; he amazes me with the new things he can do each week.

Birth Announcement Teaser

Here are a couple of pictures that almost got picked for Oliver's birth announcement. We think you will be pleased with the final product.

On Sunday we went to the Carbo's and met Oliver's great grandparents. Here he is with his cousin Sara and Great Granny Carbo.

Baby Oliver Week by Week: Week 1

The idea is to take a picture of Oliver in the same spot with the same stuffed animal every week to show his growth.

Week 1: Oliver is about the same size as Curios George.

Oliver: The First Week

Food Coma
Oliver mistook his daddy's nose for a pacifier when he leaned in for a kiss.

Nap time for everyone
A stink eye contest. I think Oliver won.

Oliver's Nursery Preview

Nathan enjoying our new bright orange glider (the dogs are obviously enjoying it as well)

The finished product. Nathan and Pawpaw Carbo put up the beautiful chair rail. And this is our crib, the side table, and some artwork we chose. That chair rail divides the room into an aqua blue wall and a chocolate brown wall. The chocolate brown is actually chalk board paint, so little Oliver can be a little artist when the mood strikes him.

Here is Oliver's dresser and hutch. It took forever and a day to arrive, but it's so nice and well made I think he'll be using it through high school.

Baby Showers and Cake

 Alexandria baby shower cake

Adorable decorations by Jennifer at Alexandria baby shower

Nathan and I in front of our baby boy wreath at Baton Rouge baby shower

Gorgeous cake from Baton Rouge baby shower. Ambrosia bakery copied my nursery decor and colors onto the cake and put petit fours on top that looked like baby blocks.

And lastly, my wonderful coworkers got these beautiful (and extremely tasty) petit fours for my last day at work. Those are baby booties and rattles on top.

Thanks everyone for the wonderful showers. We are now officially prepared for the arrival of little Oliver because of all your generous gifts. We can't wait for him to get here!

Instead of just finding out the sex of the baby from our ultrasound tech; she wrote it down on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope. That piece of paper went to the bakery where the baker made my birthdaycake with either blue or pink filling so when I cut into the cake that evening we would find out if we were having a boy or girl. This is that moment when we found out.

Baby Bump

This is the 7 month baby bump. Only about 2 1/2 months to go!

Nursery Fun

This is the color of the glider that we got for the nursery. ORANGE!
This is the side table for the nursery except it will be in light blue.

This is Oliver's crib bumper and the color scheme for the whole the nursery.
This is baby Oliver at 16 weeks. That's his little hand in the right corner, waving hi to the world.

Our First Sonogram

Baby Carbo at 8 weeks. He/She is right on target for his/her size and has a healthy heart beat.
We could not be more proud and excited. (By the way the baby is turned upside down so the head is at the bottom of the black circle and the feet are at the top.)
